Potato Kurma - South Indian Special Potato Kurma

Ingredients

  • Potatoes -2
  • Coconut grated - 2 tbsps
  • Cashew nuts – 4
  • Green Chilies -1
  • Red Chili powder – 1 tsp
  • Cardamoms -1  
  • Cumin seeds -1 tsp
  • Cloves – 2
  • Ginger and Garlic paste – 1tsp
  • Onion chopped -1
  • Tomato- 1 chopped (optional)
  • Coriander leaves few
  • Coriander powder -1 ½ tsp
  • Oil -1tbs
  • Salt to taste

 Preparation
  • Boil the potatoes, peel them and cut into pieces.
  • Heat the pan with oil, add cumin, cloves and let them all spit, add onions and fry for some time till colour change.
  • Now add the tomato, green chili and ginger and garlic paste and saute well until the raw smell goes.
  • Add the red chili powder, coriander powder and mix everything nicely allow to fry 2 mints.
  • Then add a little water and potato pieces.
  • Now grind coconut and cashew nuts into a fine paste.
  • Now add the coconut paste and reduce the flame cook till the raw smell goes off.
  • Finally garnish with chopped coriander leaves switch off the flame.  
  • Ready to serve south Indian special Potato Kurma with chapathi, dosa,idly,white rice and with jeera rice too.
