Tomato sevai / thakkali sevai idiyappam

Ingredients
  • Plain Idiyappam / string hoppers - 2 cups
  • Ripe tomato - 2 medium size
  • Big onion - 1  
  • Green chilli / Red chilli- 2 slit
  • Curry leaves – few
  • Oil - 2 tsp
  • Mustard seeds - 1/2 tsp
  • Channa dal – 1 tsp
  • Asafoetida - a pinch
  • Turmeric powder - a pinch
  • Coriander leaf few
  • Salt  
Preparation
  •  Take the cooked plain idiyappam and smoothly break and keep it aside.
  •  Now heat the pan with oil, add mustard seeds allow it to splutter and add   the channa dal, curry leaves asafoetida, after that add  chillies saute for 2 sec.
  • Now add onion and saute till colour change.
  • Then add tomato, turmeric and salt to taste, cook till the tomatoes raw smell goes off and add the plain idiyappam(sevai) and mix well in low flame. Sprinkle coriander leaf.
  • Remove from flame and ready to serve hot Tomato sevai / thakkali sevai idiyappam.
