Nattu kozhi varuval - Lunch special chicken recipes

Ingredients 
  • Chicken / Nattu kozhi - 1/2 kg
  • Shallots – 20 - 25
  • Big Onion - 1
  • Tomato - 1
  • Ginger garlic paste - 2 tblsp
  • Fennel seed – 1 tsp
  • Poppy seed - 1 tsp
  • Jeera - 1 tsp
  • Pepper - 1 tsp
  • Red chilli – 5 -6 (adjust according to your spicy taste)
  • Chicken masala powder - 2 tblsp   (available in shops)
  • Turmeric - 1 tsp
  • Coriander powder – 1 tbsp
  • Curry leaves few
  • Coriander leaves few
  • Mustard - 1 tsp
  • Oil - 3 tblsp
  • Salt as required
Preparation
  • Clean the chicken and keep aside.
  • Heat the pan with 1 tsp oil, add poppy seed, jeera, pepper, chilli, fennel seed and onions sauté well
  • Now add the coriander powder and chicken masala powder and mix well.
  • Off the flame and allow to cool and grind the mixture fine paste.
  • Heat the pan with oil, add mustard, chopped onions, chopped tomato and curry leaves. Saute for 2 mins.
  • Now add the ginger garlic paste and saute till raw smell goes off.
  • Add chicken/nattu kozhi, turmeric, salt and mix well.
  • Close the pan and cook for 3-4mins.
  • Now add masala paste and mix well.
  • Add little water and allow to cook in medium flame till the chicken become soft.
  • Off the flame and sprinkle coriander leaves on the top.
  • Ready to taste   Nattu kozhi varuval - Chicken fry with rice, dosa and idly.
