Written By south-indian-samayal-recipes on 5 Jul 2016 | 4:08 pm

Ingredients
  • Besan / kadala mavu – 1/2 cup
  • Rice flour – 2 tsp
  • Onion – 1 (chopped)
  • Red chili powder – 1/2 tsp
  • Green chili – 1 (chopped)
  • Curry leaves & coriander leaves – few (chopped)
  • Asafoetida – a pinch
  • Cooking soda – a pinch
  • Oil for frying
  • Salt to taste
Preparation
  • In a bowl, add besan flour, rice flour, onion, chilli powder, green chilli, soda, curry leaves, coriander, asafoetida and salt.  Mix well.
  • Now add water little by little and mix well to make a thick batter (not too thick).  Don’t add much water. If the batter is watery, the bonda absorb more oil.
  • Heat the frying pan with oil. Drop the batter few on the oil and check the heat, then drop small small balls and cook in medium flame until bonda turn into golden brown colour.
  • Ready to serve instant besan/kadala mavu bonda with coconut chutney, tomato chilli sauce and mint chutney. Have a yummy tea break #snacks time
